Our Ancestors have known since the beginning of time that music has the power to heal - Native Americans still use music, drumming and singing as a way to treat and protect against disease. In an article published by The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) in 2009, Dr. Assad Meymandi writes:
"Since ancient times, music has been recognized for its therapeutic value. Greek physicians used flutes, lyres, and zithers to heal their patients. They used vibration to aid in digestion, treat mental disturbance, and induce sleep. Aristotle (373–323 BCE), in his famous book De Anima, wrote that flute music could arouse strong emotions and purify the soul. Ancient Egyptians describe musical incantations for healing the sick."

Music Medicine - All music was improvised, inspired by Native American Spirituality, created to produce a Healing vibration - each album with it's own "medicine"... Starting life as a drummer/percussionist, I had returned home from a musical road trip to find an acoustic guitar and then a bass guitar just waiting for me - I quickly picked them up and learned to play... With just a few ideas, melody envy and a Will to Create music that may help others, Namaste happened - in 5 days the album was complete, using a 4 track and one microphone, 2001... Big Heart followed a few years later after receiving a High Spirit Native Flute and then a Native hand drum made by Ann Keller in Mt. Shasta... Then the keyboard showed up and Lobo was born, this is when I really started experimenting and expanding the music, the rawness is evident, while still using just the 4 track, this was between 2005-2007... After a few year break and then the 2008 fandango with the economy, I found myself in a great struggle to keep work going... That voice had said to "get busy and create more, use this time Wisely..." Then the computer showed up with Logic Pro and loops, stretching the wings - Spirit Amandla 2009 is an attempt at being a song writer, completely different from the other albums featuring Alison Bailey Streich, violin and Aaron Balano, dobro... Then comes Wakan Tanka, 2010, my personal favorite and another expansion - my goal on this one was to make music like Michael Franti"s "Home" and "Stay Human" albums, something close... Wakan Tanka is all improvised as the others, recorded at home in a living room... With this album there where a few more mics, a computer and much life experience - Mastered at my favorite music Studio, Fantasy Studios in Berkeley Ca. by George Horn... My hope is that this music may bring a sense of peace, provide a deep breath and perhaps take you on a Journey, free from Stress, Anxiety, Worry and Fear - in Fear, there is nothing...
